Hi friends and readers everywhere! Happy New Year! Just to let you know that my collection of stories is now available on Amazon at a reduced cost for the new year. It’s called The Long and Short of It. I have both a print book and an ebook. Most all of the stories were written for the classes I’ve attended over the last few years (with the exception of a few that I wrote about Mexico City some time ago). So this is, in my opinion, a pretty big deal! Hope you’ll check it out.
( You can also read a few of the stories in Amazon’s Look Inside feature.) Click on the link below to go directly to Amazon: https://tinyurl.com/amazonslz .
Thanks for your support and have a great year! It’s got to be better than last!

Thanks to all the friends, family, neighbors, and writers who attended our Open Mic reading at the beautiful African Fiesta Cafe. Several talented poets read including Judith Vasquez, David Davis, and Cecy Arreola. Some great guitarists played, and we totally enjoyed singers JuJu and Mindy Chanson. Thanks to Erika Martinez for bringing the original paintings “Dark Lantern” and “Tlatelolco” to display. Thanks, Peggy, for a wonderful night of art, fun, and food.

Hope you’ll join me at my very first reading of poetry from my collection — Moody Gardens — Thursday, Feb. 7, from 7 pm to 10 pm at the very cool African Fiesta Cafe, 1830 George Dieter for art, food, and fun. Artist Erika Martinez will also be there to show some of the work she has for sale. Click below for more details. Hope to see you there!
