Sunshine, Hurricanes, and Other Things that Have a Heart has just come out. It is the companion to Moonlight, Rainstorms and Other Things that Have a Soul. Both are collections of stories for teens. The newest one contains (among others) stories about nature, extreme competitiveness, creativity, stepsisters, dysfunctional families, unrequited love, shyness and crushing, and violence in schools.
The story “The Gill Net” won an honorable mention in this year’s Writers Digest contest in the YA category. You will never again look at sea lions in the same way as before.
